On Friday, July 25, 2008, the Brookshire Economic Development Corp. held their annual Business Mixer. Area businesses and churches were invited. Everyone had a chance to socialize, network, and become acquainted with each other. Some were introduced to new faces and new partnerships were made. Tables were available for those who wanted to display their business information. We are happy to say all tables were full and we will have more available for next year's function.
We would like to thank Don Corley of Colony Cellars
www.colonycellars.com for being on hand. Guests were invited to taste the wines from his vineyard.
A huge thank you to Marla Van Overbeke and Joan Maresh of Eve's Garden
www.evesgardentexas.com for supplying the table linens.
We would also like to thank our bartender, John Karber,
johnk1976@yahoo.com, for coming and setting up his bar so that guests could enjoy an afternoon cocktail.
Marilyn Vaughn, President of Brookshire Economic Development Corp, and Mayor Joseph Vaughn welcomed guests. They also recognized the E.D.C. board members and presented each one with a certificate of appreciation.
After business cards were collected, a drawing was held. Each month a different business will be featured on our web page. The winners were:
The Oaks at Brookshire, Activity Department
Emily W. Hillsman, Certified Public Accountant
First United Methodist Church of Brookshire
Eve's Garden
Sweet Spirit Productions
Loving Hands Assisted Living
Colony Cellars
The Oaks at Brookshire
Thomas Instrument

Again we would like to thank everyone for making this a great success! We can't wait for next year!
This was truly an outstanding event that was hosted by the Brookshire EDC. We are so looking forward to next year's event to see how they can out do this year's. Let's generate more businesses in Brookshire who are focused on making a difference for the community by planting roots of integrity. Thank you Brookshire EDC for cultivating this possibility for Brookshire's businesses.
