2009 Sweet Heart Dance - Dance Contest Winners

 

1st place winners are Raul & Elva Hinojosa with Truett Bell, President of the Pattison Area Heritage Society handing out the box of chocolates as the prize.

2nd place winners were Judy & Herb Stallknecht.

and the 3rd place winners were Robin & Roger Holland.

The dance contest is always a lot of fun and there were alot of great couples out there giving it all they got. But it was these couples who took home the candy from this contest.

We really appreciate everyone who came out and supported our Sweet Heart Dance. We are looking forward to having another dance in the summer. So keep watching our blog for more information.

Last Monday of the Month - Next Guest Night, Feb. 23, 2009

Our last Monday of the month meeting will feature a 103 year-old man. Hugh Anderson has many stories to tell. He use to own a clothes cleaning shop in Katy, Texas. He was also a well known bootlegger. He has told stories about the sheriff coming to visit him about his operation. What came of that? You will have to attend the meeting to find out.

Next Guest Night - Jan. 26, 2009

Thanks to Truett Bell "Mystery Guest Night" is not really a mystery any longer. Unless you don't know who the guest is, so then it really is a mystery.

Come see Mrs. Viola Vinson Green. She has stories going back to playing with Wes Buller, Jr. on the front porch of the old Buller Store (no longer there) on Buller Road. This would be around the late 1920's to early 1930's.

Testing New HD Video Format

This is a very short opening to the PAHS meeting that was on Nov. 24, 2008. It was recorded on HDV and encoded as H294/MPEG4 high definition format. If this works out, we will upload entire guest interviews in the future.

NEW YEAR'S EVE DANCE - That's Right

Pattison Area Heritage Society along with the help from the Pattison Area Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting for the first time in Pattison, Texas a New Year's Eve Dance.

The band "Night Shift" from over in Austin County are booked to perform and provide the festive dance music for the night. There will be black eyed peas and cornbread served by the PAVFD as the night rings in the beginning of 2009.

Dance will start at 8 PM. TIckets are available at the door for $20/person. This is a non-smoking environment, family friendly, but bring your own favorite drink mix and beverages. Coolers welcome.
