On May 22, 2010 everyone came out to enjoy the beautiful day in Pattison, Texas at the Grand Opening of Sander Outdoors. Jeff and Anissa McGowan recently moved their family and officially relocated their headquarters to Pattison, Texas. The excitement was plenty with all of the interested and curious new neighbors, along with their family and friends.
Sander Outdoors was welcomed to the community by the West I-10 Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon cutting ceremony, too.
The radio station "Texas Mix FM 105.3" from Brenham, Texas was there broadcasting live from 10am to noon. They provided a very fine selection of pure Texas music over the PA system while they were there and featured special on-air announcements about the Grand Opening of Sander Outdoors in Pattison, Texas.
On February 13, 2010 the Pattison Area Heritage Society and the Pattison Area Volunteer Fire Department hosted the 3rd annual Sweetheart Dinner and Dance.
The Pattison Area Heritage Society wishes to thank and appreciate the Pattison Area Volunteer Fire Departmentfor the shared results of this fundraiser event. Even though it was not a huge money making venture, the time and energy that both the PAHS and the PAVFD volunteers shared was a true act of selflessness, benefiting those who attended the Sweetheart Dinner and Dance. We thank those folks, too who came out and spent their evening with us and were treated to a special evening in Pattison.
We also want to give thanks for Galileo's Mexican Grill for serving such a delightful chicken and beef fajitas dinner. If you haven't been to Galileo's in Pattison, Texas yet, do yourself a favor and get over there right away. They serve some great tasty food, and their lunch specials are awesomely good and priced right, too.
And we don't want to forget the smooth country and western tunes provided by The Earl Sanders Jr. Band. Let me tell ya Hazel, they sure had some good sounds coming from them at the Dance. And their extended set of Merle Haggard songs had people yelling for more.
The winners of the the 2010 Sweetheart Dance contest:
1st Place - Kenneth & Laura Klare
2nd Place - Ronnie & Cathy Sturm
3rd Place - Ervin & Wanda Paben
Here is a short story of the Buller's during their Galveston vacation in August 2009. They ventured to Bolivar for a night's stay at the lovely Durbin Shâteau (yes, purposely misspelled with a "s" instead of a "c", and pronounced with accent on the "shât" sound, like shack-toe).
So we hope that you enjoy this little memory.
This animated slide show is mixed with some HD 24p video clips which makes the finished video so much more timeless.
Since 2004, ARTreach has recognized the greatest and most creative people in our community annually for their support and involvement in arts education and outreach. ARTreach asked their nominated "2009 Heroes" to participate in a special workshop to create an original work that will be the highlight of an October 22nd exhibition (details below). This work of art will become a 2009 signature piece that represents ARTreach's mission and supporters. This unique Heroic project was designed by Houston artist Elizabeth Bailey. The 2009 Heroes were invited to the Heroic Workshop held at Berryhill Baja Grill at the Villagio in Cinco Ranch on Friday evening, August 21, 2009. They were asked to stop by between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. to add their heroic touch to this Chair-itable work in progress! The 2009 ARTreach Heroes will be the guests of honor at the 2009 "Chair-ish the Arts" exhibition and reception which will be at the Villagio Town Center in Cinco Ranch on October 22, 2009. Oh! By the way, both Janet and Sandy Buller are among the 2009 ARTreach Heroes.
