Nominated as a 2007 Katy ARTreach Hero Among Us

We are honored to be nominated as a 2007 Katy ARTreach Hero Among Us. We've been involved in various ways with Katy ARTreach with both our video work and donating time with young kids to teach Claymation.

The "Heros" had the opportunity to create a Katy ART car (generously underwritten by Don McGill Toyota of Katy) and also create HUB CAP art. (When I first looked at my hub cap and tried to become inspired, the center lugnut holes looked like a flower. Try getting inspired by a common object sometime. It's fun.) Our daughter even painted a beautiful hub cap.

The big unveiling of the Hub Cab Art was Thursday, Sept. 20th, at Tradition Bank on Grand Parkway. Downy Vickery, President of Tradition Bank's Grand Parkway location, was on hand to welcome everyone. The Hub Cabs will be on display (and open for bids) until the KAR Gala. Our family is well represented since Sandy, Janet, and Zoe each painted a Hub Cap!

The big KAR Gala is October 21, 2007 from 5pm to 9pm at Don McGill Toyota. See the ART CAR created by Katy ARTreach artists and Heroes Among Us for yourself! Bid on the 2007 HUB CAP ART. Enjoy amazing entertainment by URGEWORKS, Strike 3 Percussion, and SOUL FRUIT, with dinner catered by Hasta La Pasta.

We received an e-mail this morning from a "Bride" from one of our past Wedding Videos. It was just a nice message that not only did it make me feel wonderful and appreciated for what we do as Wedding Videographers, but really the impact our wedding videos have on the couples a year later after their wedding. I really can't imagine yet how important their video will mean to them when they celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary or even their 50th (yeah, and that will be in 2056, wow!).

I hope all is going well for you both. I just wanted to say thank you guys again for a beautiful remembrance of our wedding day. I was looking at the highlights video again today as someone asked to see it, and it still gets me misty eyed J. It truly represents us as a couple and how we wanted to start our life together. (I still can’t believe it was a year ago).

If you ever are asked for a reference and they want to speak to past clients I would be glad to tell them how truly wonderful you guys are as well as the finished “memories”.

OPEN HOUSE at Under The Oaks - July 21, 2007

Open House at Under the Oaks is scheduled for Saturday, July 21, 2007 from 12:00 Noon to 4:00 p.m.

Under the Oaks is providing a "door prize drawing" for all brides that attend.  Their gift this year is a cake knife and server from Things Remembered, with a gift certificate for engraving of the couple's name and wedding date.  They will draw for the winner between 3:30 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. on Open House day.  Winners do not have to be present to win a prize.
